Humans of Watchung Video Interviews 

 

Objective:  

There is a wealth of significant historical information that some of our oldest residents in Watchung possess. We want to preserve that in video/interviews for future generations to enjoy and learn from.  This is a great opportunity for a student who is interested in history, videography, and storytelling. The student will gain valuable experience in conducting interviews, researching, and editing videos. They will also have the opportunity to learn more about the history of Watchung and its residents. Some potential interviewees include:   

  • Bruce Ryno 

  • Tim Logan 

  • Don Monetti 

  • Robert Murphy  

  • Wendy Amos 

  • Mayor Balla 

  • Mayor Jubin  

  • Anthony Volpe 

  • Alice Olear 

  • Laura Prepon 

Responsibilities:  

  • Develop a list of questions for the interview. 

  • Conduct a pre-interview.  

  • Schedule the interview with the resident during a mutually acceptable time. 

  • Conduct the interview in a professional manner with a professional camera that can record in a clear manner.  

  • Complete all post-interview editing in an organized manner including titles, special thanks, sources, etc.  

  • Identify other potential residents to interview. 

  • Upload the video to the Watchung Historical YouTube channel with time stamps for important/key parts of the interview.  

Qualifications:  

  • Some experience in video filming and video editing.  

  • Strong communication skills and be able to conduct interviews in a professional manner. 

  • Able to work independently and be able to manage their time effectively.
