Texier House adds historic Police Department exhibit

WATCHUNG – The Watchung Historical Committee added a new exhibit to the Texier House Museum.
The exhibit takes visitors through some of the history of the Watchung Police Department, which was housed in the Texier House for 70 years.
On display are items including a dispatch book from the 1920s with police events of the day, a first generation breathalyzer, tear gas containers and a gas mask from the 1970s, as well as photos of an old police car and motorcycle.
The Texier House, located at 10 Mountain Blvd., is open from 2 to 4 p.m. on the first and third Sundays of each month.
Watchung Borough Hall is located 15 Mountain Boulevard on the Watchung Circle
