Rays Sports Shop

Ray’s Sport Shop was actually in North Plainfield, but is remembered by those from Watchung and by sports enthusiasts from much of NJ as being in Watchung.

Ray and his 3 sons-in-law operated a Sports on Route 22 for over 60 years. It was located on Route 22 East in Scotch Plains. When that store burnt down, Ray’s moved to Route 22 West, just before the Watchung Avenue turnoff, next to the Nissan dealer until Ray’s closed in 2008 and Nissan bought the land.
