Watchung Texier House Self-Guided Tour App
Objective:
Create a self-guided tour app that would allow those visiting the Watchung Texier House Museum to review the hundreds of artifacts/displays of Watchung’s nearly 100-year history at their own pace. The Texier House offers visitors a glimpse into the past through displays of Revolutionary and WWI&II War artifacts, Industry, Artists, local organizations, restaurants, prominent buildings, noteworthy former residents, schools, and more!
Work with the Texier House Museum staff to understand and record accurate history for this project, as well as understand the significance of the artifacts and exhibits.
Plan and design the user experience and functionality of the self-guided tour app.
Build up the information provided in the Museum already with more engaging and informative descriptions for the exhibits and artifacts.
Create multimedia content such as videos and images (as required) to enhance the tour experience.
Provide training and support to museum staff and visitors on how to use the app.
Utilize/build off of an existing scavenger hunt created under the direction of the Historical Committee (for a Girl Scout Gold Award Project) for this project that includes many displays located in the Texier House.
Test and refine the app to ensure a seamless user experience.
