Pedeflous
THROWBACK THURSDAY!
In 1888, Henry Pedeflous bought this building and turned it into a hotel and restaurant. Pedeflous had a mushroom farm, and his restaurant was famous for its steak and mushroom dinners. This photograph taken in 1910, shows members of a cycling club stopping at the restaurant. Celebrities including Laurel and Hardy, Mae West, and boxer Jack Dempsey, also used to stop at the hotel. The hotel was located at 708 Mountain Blvd. where the O'Conners restaurant once stood.
